The mirror, and in this case, photographers, have a hard time choosing who is fairest in the kingdom. Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart dispute for the title in Snow White and the Huntsman. Theron plays Queen Ravenna, beautiful and evil. Rupert Sanders said that he chose her because she is a combination between Margaret Thatcher and Kate Moss.
Charlize: (laughs) I really like the Kate Moss part.
But at times Ravenna is weak and human. This was a complex character that the South African actress conquered.
Charlize: I think this character is very iconic. It was very important to go back and find out why she is the way she is and does the things she does.
Snow White is a warrior, more similar to Joan of Arc instead of the little princess we know of for over 200 years. Kristen Stewart has prepare a lot to leave Bella Swan from Twilight behind and become this heroine.
Kristen: To me, this character felt so real to me. Although I really don’t know why. It is something that is up in the air. I would define her as the it girl at the moment. And that is a huge responsibility. And in order to have a happily ever after, we had to have dwarves and a good love story in this fairytale.
Charlize: We had to freshen up the story a little and try to give people something they might not see coming.
Kristen: It is much easier to appreciate the beauty if we test it, if we put it in danger.
Both done during the mini Madrid junket.
