The film was rated 12A which meant that the passionate love scene between human Bella Swan (Stewart) and vampire Edward Cullen (Pattinson) after they finally get hitched had to be watered down.
The star speaking on tonight’s Graham Norton Show admitted that it could have been raunchier.
She said of the scene: ‘It is a bit full on, but it’s edited. I see scenes and think ‘Why is music playing over that? I was definitely making sounds and it could be so sexy and it’s not’.
Stewart added: ‘The ratings board breaks it down so technically and apparently thrusting is a huge problem for the children.’

The actress is promoting her new film Snow White and the Huntsman and said she panicked while filming a scene with co-star Chris Hemsworth because he thought she had hit him too hard.
She revealed: ‘He’s a huge sex symbol so he needed a bit of roughing up! It wasn’t too bad, I left a mark but he was able to keep working. I punched him right out of his close up. It’s funny now but when it happened I thought, “I have just ruined the movie and I love this thing and we are going to have to stop filming.”‘
Stewart stars alongside Charlize Theron in the upcoming film and denied there was any rivalry between her and Lily Collins, who plays Snow White in another film.
She said: ‘I’m actually really, really good friends with Lily and we found out we were in the movies around the same time and I promise we didn’t want to kill each other. It really wasn’t a big deal. People try and pit us against
each other, but I really like her – she’s funny.’
Stewart will be stepping out on the red carpet at the UK premiere of Snow White and the Huntsman in London on Monday.
Snow White and the Huntsman is released on June 1.
