It’s me again! I can’t believe its been almost 5 1/2 weeks since the last time I really got to talk to y’all. Although Paris has treated me well (a little too well), I’ve been counting down these last few days in anticipation to get back to this little website and all of the beautiful people that visit it every day. I thought you’d all be interested in me giving you a little write up of my European adventures, so without further ado, here is my account:
My first (and best) experience in Paris occurred on the first day of my trip. I was lucky enough to change my flight so I could attend the Cosmopolis screening here in Paris. As soon as I had landed at 8am, I went straight to my hotel to drop off my suitcases and made my way over to Le Grand Rex (where the red carpet event was to take place). I met some lovely Rob fans while waiting in line, but soon realized that the people I was surrounded by didn’t exactly know how to speak English, so I felt incredibly isolated for the first few hours or so. Thanks to my sweet, awesome, amazing bestie, @londonstew, I was introduced to a couple twitter friends that were from London, Dublin, and Chicago! I was SO relieved that they spoke English … we began fangirling like there was no tomorrow!
One note that I must make about the way this premiere was organized is that IT WASN’T ORGANIZED. The fan area was incredibly small. The “security” guys were very stern one minute, and then lenient the next minute. Although I do not have much experience when it comes to these kind of events (I’m usually behind-the-scenes), this particular screening just was not handled well at all.
I was lucky enough to snatch a VIP ticket to the screening, so I was sitting a mere 15 feet from Mr. Pattinson and Mr. Cronenberg. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Meeting new friends, soaking in the red carpet excitement, and being charmed by Rob’s presence once again definitely made my Paris trip an utter success!
On The Road Exhibit (+3 movie viewings)
Another one of the COOLEST things about being in Paris during this time was the fact that both Cosmopolis and On The Road were BOTH out in the movie theaters. And, of course, I went to see each film multiple times! I cannot wait until all of you get a chance to see each film! They are by far Rob and Kristen’s best performances yet!
I also got to go by the On The Road exhibit where I was able to see the original scroll by Jack Kerouac. That had to be one of the coolest things–seeing the film first, then going by the exhibit and seeing some of the film production props and the real-life scroll!
Metro, Bus, Etc Advertising
Now, of course, being the marketing major that I am, I couldn’t help but take pics of the lovely advertising for SWATH and Cosmopolis that I came across during my European travels.
And I mustn’t forget about my KStew-inspired photo shoots
On a different note, I went to the Spiderman Premiere here in Paris and got to see/meet the lovely Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. He was such a cutie and she was so sweet!
And last, but certainly not least, I had to stop by the famous Robsten hotel aka Hôtel Le Meurice
I’m so happy to be back! Comic Con 2012 ….. here we come!
