BREAKING: Kristen to Star in Camp X-Ray

According to a tweet by Production Weekly, Kristen will be starring in Camp X-Ray which begins filming in mid July. We are waiting for official confirmation before we get too excited about this casting news.

Having escaped from her suffocating small town into the military, Cole (Stewart) had been hoping for a tour of duty in Iraq. Instead, she’s sent to Guantanamo. Met with hatred and abuse from the Muslim men in her charge, Cole finds herself forging an odd friendship with Ali, who has been imprisoned at Gitmo for eight years.

The Gotham Group is in the pre-production stage on the upcoming feature film “Camp X-Ray” and the Primetime Emmy Award winning casting director for the movie is holding auditions for lead, co-starring, and supporting roles. The extras, photo doubles, and stand-ins for the film’s stars will be cast closer to the start of shooting. Production is set to take place in Los Angeles, CA and will begin principal photography on July 15, 2013.

Prior to the start of shooting “Camp X-Ray” Stewart will play the lead role of Delphi in the feature film “The Big Shoe” directed by Steven Shainberg. Kristen Stewart is repped by Ken Kaplan of The Gersh Agency.

  1. I’m excited about this one! Hope it’s true that she already has the part. This sounds
    like the one she was supposedly attatched too a few years ago. Story is a little different
    though. I just remember girl escaping her small town and joining the Army, and was supposed to be directed by James Woods. I know this isn’t the same one but same start.
