Did Kristen not look kick ass on Tonight with Jay Leno this month?! Appearing on the show to promote 'Snow White and the Huntsman', Kristen opted for a Rebecca Minkoff three-quarter sleeve blazer with a Dolce & Gabbana James Dean graphic tee underneath, and ditched the jeans for leather J Brand. Let's just say she rocks blazers on that show like it's her business! *three snaps*
Not only is this easy to re-style for yourself, it's an outfit that you can wear year-round! A lightweight red/orange blazer over any old-hollywood celebrity graphic tee (can be found in thrift stores, retail stores, or department stores – very common t-shirt style) paired with thin pleather or vinyl pants or leggings (such as these) say, 'I'm badass without trying too hard because I always dress like this'. Also note that this outfit doesn't require heels and actually looks better without them – yay! Points for comfort!
Keep the makeup you wear light and don't go too heavy on the black eyeliner unless you're really going for that out-on-the-town approach. Kristen manages to look fresh-faced by letting her outfit be the statement instead of raccoon eyes. Stick with neutrals such as browns, peaches, and golds. Gloss on that shiny lip color to mix the bold with the beautiful!
It is LondonStew once again this week with Kristen promoting ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ in the UK! Remember when Kristen showed up to the Mulberry Spring/Summer ’12 Fashion Show in London last fall and the fashionistas in us all passed out from shock/bliss? Yeah. That day.
One of my favorite Kristen dresses, this Mulberry Belted Neely Dress with a drop waist and three-quarter sleeves is light and airy for spring and the powder blue instantly softens up anyone’s wardrobe. Of course, Kristen found the perfect combination of pixie chick and badass by wearing Mulberry black braided ankle booties during the show.
The key to this look is to find that perfect dress with the low waistline, quarter-length sleeves, and scoopneck. The similar dress below is sold online at Target and is an affordable price of $18.00! That’s about… $850.00 less than Mulberry! *high five* Pocket that change and buy some Nars Cream Eye Shadow to complete a light blue smokey eye like Kristen!
Don’t forget that our StyleStew Contest is still going on – until May 19! Click here for details!

Last night was the annual Met Ball Costume Institute Gala in New York City where Kristen was the guest of Nicolas Ghesquière, creative director of Balenciaga. It marked Kristen’s first official appearance representing the brand as the new face of their fall fragrance campaign. Kristen wore a slightly modified off-the-runway look in a printed, color block dress and strappy lace-up pumps from the Fall 2012 RTW collection. Kristen was one of the more daring looks at the event, representing the brand’s distinctive aesthetic. Seeing as the dress is both bold and sexy, Kristen needed hair and makeup to match. Her glam squad did not disappoint. All of twitter was buzzing over Kristen’s sultry cat eyes and rock&roll waves. Here are some details on how to get the look:
Makeup artist Jillian Dempsey kept Kristen’s look soft, but sexy. She created bronzy, smoky eyes lined with a thick black liner that made an alluring cat-eye effect. Kristen’s luminous skin was simple with blushing pink cheeks that gave her a sun-kissed glow. Her look was polished off with a pink hued nude lip.
Hairstylist Adir Abergel‘s inspiration for Kristen’s sex kitten hair was rock and roll, vintage Kate Moss with a tousled, sexy, natural look. Here’s the step-by-step on how to recreate the look yourself.
On towel dried hair, Adir applied Fekkai Coiff Strong Hold Volume Mousse to the roots. To create texture, he then applied Fekkai Summer Hair Beach Waves Spray starting one inch from the top of the head and down to the roots. He rough dried the hair to create maximum volume. Once the hair was dry, Adir used a one-inch iron to curl the hair, stopping just before the ends to keep the curls looking natural. He then back combed the roots to add lift and movement to the look. To finish, Adir sprayed a small amount of the same beach waves spray and scrunched it with his hands for added definition.
Taking a break from her usual Chanel ‘Rogue Carat’ and ‘Black Satin’ nails, Kristen went with a much more natural look last night. Manicurist Ashlie Johnson used Chanel’s ’Beige’ to keep things “clean and simple”. The shade helps soften Kristen’s look, and her nails look both elegant and healthy.
Well, I don’t know about you all, but I am LOVING CovergirlStew lately! From the HUGE surprise of her on the cover of Jalouse Magazine with Garrett Hedlund to Elle UK revealing Kristen’s June cover all in 24 hours, we have gotten some major goodies!
Harking back to 2008, here is Kristen posing for NYLON Magazine! She rocks a casual Nikes tank with an Oakwood red leather skirt and Ray-Ban 3016 Clubmaster Sunglasses.
She mixes the glam with the sporty in a perfect combination that is so simple to recreate. Just head on over to your favorite athletic store for Nike and then pop in to your go-to fashion boutique for a red mini skirt and red pair of sunnies. Add some chunky accessories, and there you have it! Easy, right?
Okay, ladies! If you didn’t love Kristen’s Stella McCartney get-up at the 2012 Kids’ Choice Awards this month, then you must get with the trends! This royal blue color is everywhere this season and Kristen knows it!
To be successful at mimicking this look, just make sure you have a little (preferably a lot) of blue lace in your shirt, skirt, or dress, and voilá! For the most flattering look, find a dress with a belt or piece of fabric to create that empire waistline. Dig those blue pumps out of the back of your closet and bring them to the front of your wardrobe for the spring! I promise you’ll get your use out of them this season!
Don’t be afraid to match your shoe color with your dress perfectly or wear a completely different color nail polish than what’s in your outfit – you can see here that it works for Kristen! Now you can make it work for you, too!
Hollywood succumbed to a textbook case of Beatlemania on Friday night when Sir Paul McCartney breezed into town for the music video premiere of his new song “My Valentine.” Of course, the crowd that gathered in the back courtyard of Stella McCartney’s West Hollywood boutique (Gwyneth Paltow, Jane Fonda, Quincy Jones) was a far cry from hysterical tweens. Nevertheless, classic symptoms of the condition (obsessive adulation and a tendency to ogle) were unmistakable. Ginnifer Goodwin didn’t even attempt to play it cool. “I’m in total stalker mode,” admitted the actress, who joked that she had enlisted pals to snap iPhone portraits of her with McCartney in the background.
Given the occasion, many guests turned up in Stella McCartney. Gwen Stefani opted for a black silk one-piece with sheer side panels (“I love a good jumpsuit,” explained the singer) while Kristen Stewart offset the daintiness of a cobalt-blue wool crepe skirt with sturdy faux-patent-leather loafers. “You’re rocking those shoes!” said the designer.
