It seems as if I had perfect timing with this Saturday’s StyleStew! I chose to do one of Kristen’s Glamour looks last weekend, and then what do ya know? GlamourStew Outtakes GALORE! Yippee! AND Kristen was seen at the Stella McCartney show room in Paris today!
I think everyone just about died when we saw this Stella McCartney one sleeved white laced dress on our girl. And illusion of the slit up the thigh was what sent us over the edge in fan hysterics.

Now, it is just typical KStew fashion (literally) for her to contrast an extremely girly look with a touch of something rugged, hence the Ash Ralf Studded Combat Booties. ADORE. Surpringsly, combat boots are not hard to come by in today’s fashion world! These days, you can find them in practically any shoe store! If combat boots are too much for you, go with any heel or ankle boot with a fun embellishment, like studs.
There are 2 separate dresses I found that reminded me of Kristen’s. H&M has a fantastic white long sleeved Flared Lace Dress for only $30! It has a above the knee hemline and has scallop-patterned trim to resemble Kristen’s, so it also has a lot of texture. Also, American Eagle’s White Scalloped Dress for $60 has similar details, but is a bit more casual with its straps and an open shouldered look (the website says white is sold out, but I’ve seen it in stores, so act quick if you want it!)
If a dress really isn’t your thing, as it is usually the case with Kristen, try finding simple laced tanks and tops with floral patterns or see-through designs. It will be comfortable and breezy for the warm seasons coming up! Even a different colored one, such as the black one shown below from Delia’s (which also offers cream/white), would work well. The most important thing is that you’re inspired by Kristen! Add personal details to make the look your own.
We’re not positive that Kristen will be appearing here, but due to the fact that she’s the new face of Balenciaga’s perfume line, chances are high! The fashion show will start tomorrow at 10am CET/4am ET/1am PC.
*Cross your fingers*
I just realized I’ve been doing Style Stews mostly on Kristen’s dresses for red carpet events, so I hope you’ve all had enough places to go to get glammed up! I think I’m going to try to pick her casual looks for a little bit…
For this week, I asked some of you on Twitter which one of Kristen’s outfits is your fav and a lot of you chose Kristen’s French Connection strapless mini she wore to the Much Music appearance in 2008! Promoting Twilight with Rob, she is dressed with an edge as always, which is appropriate for the event!
Just like Kristen’s natural style, her outfit is pretty simple to copy! First, find a strapless plaid mini dress that frames your curves nicely and hits at the right length above your knees. Don’t go too short with the length because heels will make you look taller once you add them to this outfit and it will not be flattering, nor look proportional. Keep it classy like Kristen!
You can choose other prints and patterns, such as this striped dress below if you prefer it over plaid. However, a great plaid dress is this one from ModCloth for $30! I love that Kristen always chooses prints to wear, whether they are bold or subtle.
Kristen wore deep (blood) red Stella McCartney pumps with what looks like a medium-sized heel. You can do the same thing, or for a more relaxed look, pull a Kristen and wear a pair of red converse with your dress! They actually look even better with the striped dress, in my opinion! By wearing a different print, you are still inspired by Kristen, but adding your own personality to it!
The Chanel chain is gorgeous on our girl, but let’s not get too carried away! Make the outfit yours by adding layers of silver or gold necklaces that hit near your abdomen – the more the better! Some rings and multiple bracelets (even a watch like the Seikoone Kristen is wearing) complete the vibe you want to give off. Include smaller personal touches like these, and you’re golden!
We all know Kristen loves her Converse, Raybans, and knotted American Apparel v-necks, but one item she can’t seem to get enough of is her Make Believe ‘Geronimo’ tank! She has worn it on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 2010, to yoga class to prepare for Snow White, and to the London Heathrow Airport this past summer. She has managed to make a simple tank top work in 3 different ways! ...And she thinks she’s not a fasionista…. How many of you have already bought the tank top?
This tank top is actually available to buy on their website (link above) and is very affordable ($25!). I bought it from this website and let me just say how COMFORTABLE it is! It’s not too tight, but not too slouchy either. I’ve gotten many compliments on it and it’s because of Kristen!
For a night out: Gray fitted blazer (stripes are optional), Make Believe tank, a pair of black jeans or pants, and sexy black heels (easy peasy!)
For a daytime look: Pair the tank with jeans of any wash, a black or gray hoodie (The one I chose is from Target, which I also have and is so cozy), and some converse or vans! Simple as that!
For a workout at the gym: The tank, of course, and whatever else you’re comfortable in!
I added in some accessories to add more to each look. The guitar bracelet I thought was appropriate because it reminded me of Kristen’s Joan Jett days, and the RayBans (authentic or not) are sure to complete Kristen’s look, as she wears hers constantly!
Happy almost Valentine’s Day, everyone! I hope your hearts are excited for the big day! We at Strictly Robsten are wondering just what Rob and Kristen will do together on Tuesday night, but here are some ideas for what YOU could wear to impress someone (or wear just to get in the spirit of the holiday)!
Kristen’s Proenza Schouler gown seemed most appropriate for this Valentine’s Day! She wore this to the Met Gala honoring Alexander McQueen in New York City in 2011! This was such a bold statement for her, the red, the length, the slit, and the cut of the back! It was a perfect choice because she looks like a piece of artwork here! She’s simply stunning.
Red seems like the obvious choice to wear on Valentine’s, but you can never, I repeat, NEVER go wrong with it! It’s so sexy, especially with a touch of black. I chose a few dresses to get a couple of ideas, depending on the occasion.
The dress that is most like Kristen’s is the red and black zig-zagged maxi from Tobi.com. For only $52, the length of this dress will make you look skinnier and taller! With some wedges or heeled gladiator sandals, such as these jeweled ones from asos.com, it brings the length of the dress up and off the floor (it’s important to be able to walk in it!). This dress is also sexy for those of you who live in warmer areas because it is a bit see-through toward the bottom and is lightweight for those humid days! It’s also casual enough to wear year-round! Whoohoo! I’m all for getting your money’s worth.
If you don’t plan on doing anything special for Valentine’s Day, but want to have some fun with it, try this dress from modcloth.com with the black satan bow. It’s comfortable and low-key enough to wear around campus, out to dinner with the girls, or downtown for a couple of drinks! Even sophisticated enough for a date, too, without going over the top.
The other dress from asos.com with the black ribbing near the bust is also a great substitute for casual, comfy, but in my opinion, is a bit nicer for an appropriate occasion. It sort of has an edge to it and less girly vibe, but you can still make it look effortless by adding black jeweled cuffs (like this one from JC Penney) and some black nail polish.
All of the jewlery here can turn your simple dress into a thought-out outfit, including a nice pair of diamond earrings (the hearts are just an added Valentine’s Day reference!)
