New Rob Interview with Empire Magazine

Introducing Robert Pattinson: Serious Actor
Some double acts just make sense. Morecambe & Wise. Cameron & Clegg. Cronenberg & Pattinson…

That’s right, the 26 year-old Twilight hunk teams up with the master of cerebral cinema for this month’s Cannes favourite, Cosmopolis, a gritty drama in which the actor gives a performance most people, including myself, didn’t know he had in him.

That’s my biggest problem, confidence,“ laughs Pattinson. ”I’m taking baby steps, and hoping people will keep employing me!

Cosmopolis is the latest in Pattinson’s non-Twilight career, which has seen the likes of Water For Elephants but never Generic Robot Blockbuster IV. ”If there is a way to maintain a career doing small, interesting movies, I would take that option” he says. ”I’m not buff enough for robot movies.”

With Twilight about to bow out, he may be ready to leave R-Pattz (“My mum calls me that occasionally“) behind, along with the screaming teens. ”I can’t see tons of people watching Cosmopolis and screaming at it,“ he laughs.

It’ would be amazing if they did!

Cosmopolis is out on June 15.

I arrived at 10am. There were about 20 people there and also some press. I decided to have an early lunch so around 11am, I was casually eating my lunch when we saw black cars arriving. We immediately started running and there was even a old man who said “run fast, so you can see him” and we did. I can't deal with how amazing it felt to see him for the first time ever.
I saw him for like 5/10 seconds and he looked so handsome and REAL. He was there, in front of me. We started clapping, because we decided not to scare him away with screams. He was smiling and he looked happy and so sweet.
I started shaking, because I was so anxious and shocked, I don't know, I had a lot of mixed feelings.
We decided to wait for him to come out and we waited in the sun (without lunching) for about an hour. He was doing the press conference. Paulo Branco and David came out first, followed by Rob's parents. He fooled us though. Like the ninja he is, he left through another door.
After waiting in the burning sun all afternoon, around 5/6pm, his bodyguard showed up at the red carpet and left a few minutes later.
Around 7pm, the press arrived and so did other portuguese famous people who were invited for the premiere. I was expecting him to arrive around that time as well, but I was mistaken.
We were supposed to be inside the theater at 8:30pm and Rob arrived after 8:30. He took some pictures with the first fans in line and also gave autographs then he started walking really fast down the red carpet. He stopped for interviews and then I left because I was afraid I couldn't get inside anymore. And exactly in that moment, and with my luck, Robert started giving autographs and taking pictures with fans. If I hadn't left, I would have a picture with Robert Pattinson at this moment.
However, I got TWO autographs.
His parents were also very cute. Claire tried to stay away an

d Rich gave some autographs. Paulo Branco tried to be in control of the situation with the press, he was always by Rob's side and that was really awesome.
Now, inside, Paulo Branco came on stage and we all clapped, of course. He talking a bit about the movie and then presented David, Rob and Don.
Rob was such a dork and I love him. Paulo talked first, then David and then Rob and as soon as he was about to open his mouth, everyone started clapping and cheering and he laughed because he's adorkable and Paulo said “guys, if you don't stop, he won't talk” and then we stopped and Rob was so perfect and I can't even remember what he said. I was so… wow.
I love him. He's absolutely amazing and so sweet. He's also much better looking in the person – I don't know how that's possible, but oh well.
OH and at around 12am, when they were leaving the press conference, Rob's parents started taking pictures to all the fans waiting for him.
I tried to remember all the details I could. It's very hard though, because the emotions are so many and you just live the moment, you know. If there's any typo, feel free to change it. I got a big poster of the movie that I'll twitpic in a few minutes, a 15 minute video of the red carpet that I'm uploading and that's it.
Thoughts on Cosmopolis: pretty messed up. I loved the movie. It makes you think, you know. Rob has such a strong, different role from what he's used to and he played it so well. I'm so proud of him. And now I know he's real, that was a bfd for me. Okay, bye.

Kristen's Cannes Interview with STV

Watch the interview here!

Twilight Kristen Stewart has been talking about her new movie On The Road, which sees the actress make the leap into a more adult role.

In the adaptation of the acclaimed novel the 22-year-old actress plays a sexually liberated young woman – which meant she had to do sex scenes, requiring partial nudity. Although the scenes are risqué, Kristen felt no shame.

Speaking at the Cannes Film Festival, she explained: “As an actor you want to get as close as you can to the real thing and I couldn't have done that being…modesty doesn't fit in this movie.

“There is really no shame in it. I felt so safe and comfy with these people as well. I'm really proud of it actually and really not uncomfortable with it all.”
