Carolina Herrera Talks Bella’s Wedding Dress

You’d think [this] was another royal wedding.

…Even Mrs. Herrera, brought on by the “Twilight” author, Stephenie Meyer, hasn’t revealed so much as a silhouette or a neckline. Mrs. Meyer’s 2008 book, “Breaking Dawn (The Twilight Saga, Book 4),” offers only quick glimpses of the dress, like “a long line of pearl buttons” up the back.

“I wanted the dress to have a period feel without being actually vintage,” Mrs. Meyer, who collaborated with Ms. Herrera, said in an e-mail [to the NYT].

Mrs. Herrera, whose gowns typically begin at $4,000, was equally cryptic in an e-mail: “Of course, I was inspired by Stephenie’s description of the gown in the book,” she wrote. “I also took into consideration the personality and the style of the bride.”

After being sent repeated e-mails asking for an image of the dress, Eric Kops, Summit’s senior vice president for publicity, responded: “We are saving the reveal of the dress as a surprise for the fans when they see the film. Therefore, we aren’t planning to release any images showing the dress until after the film in theatres.”

Since THE TWILIGHT SAGA began, Twilight fans have been imagining of Bella’s bridal gown. A search on Youtube or Google returns hundreds of possibilities and home videos created by Twilight fans with their vision of “THE DRESS.” The question remains…just what will Bella wear?

Her gown, marketed under the brand Twilight Bridal by Alfred Angelo, will be unveiled in late November 2011 following the release of the movie, and will be available in Alfred Angelo Signature Stores and independent retailers worldwide.

Sketch of Bella’s Wedding Dress

EW has released a sneak peak of the The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide, a picture of Bella’s supposed Wedding dress.  This makes me speculate the sources for late last month, claiming that the dress was “ugly.”  For the look of these two dresses, the Wedding dress seems relatively conservative and beautiful.  Can’t wait to see the ACTUAL dress ;)  What do y’all think?

EW has not one but two exclusive images from Stephenie Meyer’s new book, The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide, which goes on sale April 12: Bella as a vampire and Bella in her wedding dress. A nice walk-up to the first Breaking Dawn film, no? I didn’t expect to like the first Twilight graphic novel as much as I did, and these illustrations are by that book’s illustrator, Young Kim, who did such a great job bringing Meyer’s characters to life.

Bella’s wedding dress photos confirmed

Details to come!!
UPDATED: @604Gossip apparently has photos of Bella’s wedding dress.  Although there are reports from Summit saying that the wedding dress is not currently in Vancouver, 604Gossip seems to differ.  Whatever the truth is, we will see the dress soon enough whether it’ll be in the movie or in a leaked picture.  Personally, I’d rather see it in the movie because a picture really doesn’t do a dress justice.  What do y’all think?
